Sarah Whitehead

Sarah is a young single mother who has grown up in Salford. Living in some of the most deprived wards she has first-hand experience of what struggles life can bring when living with disadvantage. After spending many years unemployed, in 2010 Sarah found herself on a community pride unit School of Participation in Weaste and later joined The Salford Apprentice. She became a recognised force within her community, setting up the community led initiatives Weaste Area Forum and BCD Community Gardens Association and becoming very active within local decision making structures to impact positive change and be a voice for her community.
